Our relationship to energy is evolving and new approaches are needed to address the current and future state of power system adequacy. True leadership is required to meet these challenges. Join us on October 2nd to be part of the solution. The complexities of planning and operating the grid are requiring dynamic changes. Our success in continuing to integrate new renewable energy requires working solutions, and the coordinated efforts of utilities, policymakers, and consumers alike.
It’s time to reconcile the shaping of our policies with the realities of the physics of our system to ensure both the future balance and resilience of the grid.
In early 2019 the Northwest Power Pool (NWPP) with the cooperation of several industry related organizations embarked on the coordination of activities relating to a comprehensive review of Resource Capacity Adequacy in the NW Power Pool region. The NWPP, with assistance and input from participating member utilities, have established teams to start tackling the urgent resource adequacy issue.
The culmination of these efforts will set the stage for an honest dialogue around the dynamics facing the electric power industry. The symposium will feature discussions among the industry’s top leaders and key stakeholders. And the range of topics will create a road map that leads us to enhanced system reliability within the Power Pool footprint.
The agenda will be announced shortly. Register now and stay tuned.
